Distinction at the International Competition NUMA-2014

In the context of the International Competition NUMA-2014 (Neo Ubimedia MindTrek Awards), Dr Theodosios Sapounidis was awarded the 2nd place award amongst 34 competitors. The winning proposal entitled “Cubes Coding” is based on Dr Sapounidis’ PhD work in AUTh Department of Informatics (supervised by: Asst. Prof. Demetriadis, Prof. Vlahavas and Assc. Prof. Bassileiadis) and concerns the development of a tangible interface based on “smart-cubes”, to engage small children in introductory programming activities with the use of the Lego NXT Mindstroms robot. This specific competition advances innovations relevant to the ubiquitous computing approach in digital media.
